Dennis's lights......

seem to be having a problem with Dennis's lights and another lecky prob. when i start him the rear lights stay on whether the switch is on or off and the headlights don't work at all also the ignition light stays on constantly even if you rev the engine, he had a new battery about two weeks ago. i've had a quick look at the wiring but can't spot anything obvious. can anyone shed any light on this for me ?

Rear Seatbelts

Just bought a 1977 Clubby estate and realised it's got no rear seatbelts. Two sons not happy!!

Fellows, I needs a new battery for my eSTATE, been to halfords and the one they have is for a saloon which is to high not long enough and not deep enough! Can anyone tell me what battery fits correctly? Much thanks, rob

Rebuild and resto

It's time to start some mechanical work on my estate now that the weather is too poo to try any more bodywork. I've started clearing the engine bay and managed to remove starter motor, alternator, ignition system and cooling system yesterday before taking the head off. At first look I thought it was a right off from the state of it. I then realised it was just crusty with a thick layer of carbon. Should be able to clear it off before refitting.

The engine bay needs some...

Is it possible to remove the engine from the gearbox without removing both?

HI. I'm in th eprocess of stripping my engine down and was wondering the above question...

I can see quite a few of the bolts that seem to hole everytihng together but there may be something I've not thought about yet.

Has anyone attempted this before or know if it is even possible?

1098 cc cylinder head swap - leaded to unleaded

I have been told that a 998 cc head will fit a 1098 cc engine without any problems as there are more unleaded 998s about than 1098. However , if a 1098 gives better performance then I see little point in compromising this by going for the more readily available head. Has anyone found the solution to this when converting to unleaded?

Thermostat housing stuck

HI. I've just started stripping my engine down and am having some trouble from the thermostat. It looks like the whole thing is full of leak-stopping powder so will have to come off. I've got the nuts off but the body will not not move. I've tried scraping around the gasket and knocking gently with a rubber mallet but no luck. Anyone else have experience of removing siezed components or got any ideas?
